Stay in a Glamping Tent at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort

the resort

Hands down, Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort is one of the best places to stay when visiting Zion National Park! It is a family adventure resort located in Orderville, Utah. The resort is located in a rural area within minutes of the Zion-Mt Carmel tunnel entrance to Zion National Park. The tunnel entrance is incredible and the views driving into the park from this entrance are stellar. The resort has an assortment of accommodations from campsites and small cabins to huge vacation homes and just about everything in between. With an onsite restaurant, swimming pool, and outdoor adventures galore, this place is just the bee’s knees. All things considered, prices are reasonable for the area and customer service is top-notch.

the glamping tent

We have stayed twice at Zion Ponderosa. Our first stay was in a Conestoga (covered wagon) on an epic family road trip from Nashville to Los Angeles. Since we loved it so much, we returned with friends the very next year to stay in a deluxe glamping tent. Our glamping tent had a queen size bed, a double futon, and two twin beds to sleep six comfortably. Our glamping tent did have electricity however it did not have heating or air conditioning. The staff was kind to give us plenty of extra blankets and we bundled up to sleep in our warmest layers. We felt cozy despite some cold overnight temperatures during our stay. The beds are comfortable and the Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort provides quality bed linens and towels.

the bathhouse

It is a short walk from the glamping tents to the bathhouse so I recommend bringing some flip flops or shower shoes for quick trips back and forth. There are separate restrooms for men and women with toilets, sinks, and dressing areas. The restrooms are large and clean. Private shower rooms are located in the bathhouse with doors opening to an outdoor hallway. There is a laundry facility and an outdoor sink area for all of your cleaning needs. We were pleased with the set-up. The bath house is adjacent to the pool area.

the pool

Bring your swimsuit. Undoubtedly, your kiddos are going to be begging to hit the pool! There is a water slide, an upper pool, a lower pool, and hot tubs. There is usually someone on staff at the pool gate and pool towels are provided. Access to the pool was included in our glamping tent reservation. We found it was a wonderful place to relax after a long day of hiking and dodging crowds at Zion National Park.

the restaurant

One of the things we love most about Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort is the onsite dining. Our glamping tent reservation included a full continental breakfast. The buffet was delicious and filling. Certainly, a great way to begin each morning before heading out to our adventures at Zion National Park. In the evenings, we chose to eat supper at the Ponderosa restaurant. The meals are tasty and best of all we did not have to wait for a table at one of the crowded dining options in Springdale. The Ponderosa restaurant is relaxing with a great family-friendly atmosphere. It is the perfect place to unwind and reminisce about the day.

the activities

Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort has something for everyone. They have a large activity barn which is the starting point for various adventures: ziplining, horseback riding, climbing, hiking, jeep tours, mini-golf, playgrounds, stargazing tours, and more. Best of all, it is located just a few miles down the road from Zion National Park!
